More than 1000 aspirants , of which 62 are Indian , have been shortlisted for the One-Way Trip to Mars .
The Mission is to send 4 Men & 2 Women to Mars on a one-way trip to Mars in 2024 & to establish a permanent colony on the Red Planet .
The Netherlands based Company "Mars One" which is a non-profit company has announced the selection of a total of 1,058 candidates who will be going to the mars in 2024 from the application pile of 200,0000 .
The Applications Came from over 140 Countries .

297 are from the U.S. , 75 from Canada , 62 from India , 52 from Russia.
The Applicants were notified via an E-Mail quoting
"The next several selection phases in 2014 & 2015 will include rigorous simulations , many in team settings , with focus on testing the physical and emotional capabilities of our remaining candidates . "
